The
Parish magazine of the time said: Mr G. H. Fellowes Pryune [sic], the
well known church architect, has been over to consider a scheme for the
improvement of the East End of the Church, the formation of a side chapel, and
the erection of a chapel screen, and we hope to receive his scheme at an early
date. There has been a long delay in this matter owing to the Architect’s
absence in Ceylon, where he is building a Cathedral.
The
Oak screen in the Lady chapel is particularly effective, neatly reflecting the
designs on nearby capitals. |
