The restoration of 1890 included the south aisle roof and screen. The
screen was restored once in 1890, then again in 1924-5 by Read - which may
indeed have been a complete rebuild. The 1892 work included the new
reredos & panelling, along with an altar (no longer there). The reredos
painting is by Edward Prynne, also from 1892.
The undated postcard shows the interior, and you can
just make out the reredos through the chancel gates – see detail.
