Included in the restoration was:
- new north chapel;
- choir vestry and organ chamber; window tracery;
- building up altar steps;
- installing altar, tiles and tall reredos in Lady chapel;
- chancel arch made;
- pillars “straightened”;
- new roofs;
- west gallery removed;
- reseating.
Note that, despite appearances, it seems Fellowes Prynne did NOT design the
screen; this was fashioned by Herbert Reed using fragments of the old screen as
a basis for his design. |
